Job Title: High School Girls Basketball Coach

Reports to: Athletic Director

Job Summary: The High School Girls Basketball Coach is responsible for coaching and leading the girls' basketball team at Midland Christian School. The coach will oversee all aspects of the program, including practices, games, and team activities, and will work to develop and enhance the skills and abilities of each player while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and character development consistent with the school's faith-based values.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program that promotes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while maintaining the school's faith-based values.

2. Plan and conduct practices and games, including developing game strategies and providing instruction and feedback to players.

3. Identify and selcet student-athletes who are committed to the program and are capable of contributing to the team's success.

4. Work with the Athletic Director to schedule games and coordinate team travel arrangements.

5. Manage the team budget and work with the Athletic Director to purchase necessary equipment and supplies.

6. Ensure that all players are in compliance with school and athletic eligibility requirements.

7. Provide mentorship and guidance to players, helping them develop both as athletes and as individuals.

8. Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and the community regarding the program's goals, progress, and successes.

9. Foster an environment of mutual respect, cooperation, and positive communication among team members and staff.

10. Serve as a positive role model and represent the school in a professional and ethical manner at all times.

Qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in physical education, sports science, or a related field is preferred.

2. Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.

3. Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and player development techniques.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and the community.

6. Demonstrated commitment to the school's faith-based values and mission.

Working Conditions:

The High School Girls Basketball Coach is a part-time position that requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. The coach will be required to attend all practices, games, and team activities, as well as occasional school and community events. The coach must also be physically able to perform the duties of the job, including running, jumping, and lifting equipment.
